Principal Mobile Engineer: Android`

Location: Hyderabad

At Zippr, we are trying solve a very relevant problem of communicating unstructured physical addresses which are very prevelant in an emerging economy like India. As we embark on this journey, we are looking to build our technology team with individuals that have the passion to solve real problems and make an impact. To further our efforts, we are looking to bring onboard a strong mobile application developer to build applications on the android platforms for Zippr’s product initiatives. It is critical that the candidate be able to thrive in a start-up environment, understand product ideas and able to work with one or many people to drive it to completion.

What'll keep you busy at Zippr

  1. Understand the product requirements and be able to quickly turn-around a functional prototype for internal review and further refinement
  2. Be able to provide technical and analytical solutions to evaluate the merits and challenges of a product idea
  3. Be able to work independently on a project-by project basis and also work in a collaborative and fast-paced team environment
  4. Hands-on coder and mentor for the Android development team
  5. Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences.

Desired skills and experience

  1. Overall 5+ years of mobile development experience.
  2. Minimum 3+ years experience in android application development.
  3. Passionate about Android and its eco system technologies like Android Gear
  4. Expert level understanding with Android SDK, Java and related technologies.
  5. Hands on experience with Google location services.
  6. Full life cycle develop experience for Android phone, tablet and other devices that run on Android OS
  7. Fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
  8. Experience with Git, XML, JSON and Web Services is desired.
  9. Be able to write elegant, readable, and well-documented code.
  10. Links to your stackoverflow (or related developer forums), blogs and github should be supplied with job application.
